I have 30 years of experience in general dentistry. I purchased the practice in 1995 from Dr. Leonard Rich, DMD, a beloved longtime Gridley resident and dentist. I have been married to Amy for 32 years, and we have four children: Samantha, Shannan (married to Hunter), Sean, and TJ. We also have one grandson, who was born on Father’s Day. Our family includes two dogs, Yeti and Maisie, and two cats, Mamba and Cali.

My hobbies include watching football and basketball. I also enjoy hunting, fishing, hiking, skiing, and scuba diving. I particularly enjoy spending time with my family while skiing in Utah or diving in the Cayman Islands.

My key to success is to treat every patient as if they were family. My mentors, especially my orthodontist Dr. Jim Smith, inspired me to pursue a career in dentistry. I am task-oriented and enjoy seeing projects through to completion. What I enjoy most about working with patients is getting to know them personally. My favorite thing about my team is that they are knowledgeable, experienced, and genuinely appreciate the opportunity to help our patients improve their health. I also enjoy working with patients of all ages.

I am local to the area. I attended El Paso High School, where I was valedictorian of the class of 1986, and I met my wife there. After high school, I attended the United States Naval Academy and later went to Southern Illinois School of Dental Medicine, receiving my DMD in 1995. I have enjoyed watching my children grow, especially seeing them excel in sports. Our son Sean is currently in dental school at Marquette.

When I am not in the office, the best therapy for me is sitting in a tree stand in the woods.
